Coach Spotlight: Coach Alexa Elevating Girls' Basketball

Coach Alexa Mirzaian is a key figure in the basketball community, making an impact as the Girls Varsity Head Coach at Burbank High School and Women’s Assistant Coach at Pasadena City College. She also leads ​Jr Hoops as its Director of Basketball Operations, ​​Los Angeles' fastest growing recreational league.

Her basketball journey started at Crescenta Valley High School, followed by college ball at Glendale Community College. She later studied at Cal State Northridge and pursued graduate studies at Southern New Hampshire University.

Since joining LA Select in 2022, Coach Alexa has been instrumental in developing our players, bringing her passion and expertise to the court. Beyond coaching, she’s a dedicated advocate for girls’ basketball, continuously working to expand opportunities for female athletes.

Coach Alexa believes in empowering athletes by instilling discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Her coaching approach focuses on skill development, mental toughness, and creating a supportive environment where players can reach their full potential. Whether coaching at LA Select, Jr Hoops, Burbank High, Pasadena City College, ​or managing Jr Hoops, she’s committed to helping athletes succeed.
