🇦🇲 Coach Ed Returns to Armenia National Team Staff
We’re proud to announce that Coach Edvin Hematsiraki has once again been selected to join the Armenia Men’s National Basketball Team coaching staff for their international games this summer in Los Angeles!
This marks Coach Ed’s second consecutive summer representing Armenia at the international level—a true testament to his basketball knowledge, leadership, and relentless commitment to the game.
But this opportunity isn’t just a reflection of Coach Ed’s talent—it’s also a sign of the trust placed in him by longtime NBA coach and Armenian National Team Head Coach Rex Kalamian. Being part of this elite staff means Coach Ed will work closely with high-level players and coaches, gaining valuable insight into international systems, advanced player development, and strategic game planning.
And the best part? That knowledge comes right back to LA Select.
Coach Ed’s experience with Team Armenia directly strengthens our program—from how we structure practices and teach game concepts, to how we mentor athletes and lead teams. The lessons he brings back make an immediate impact on our players.
For LA Select, this moment goes beyond a coaching milestone—it’s a full-circle story.
Coach Ed's journey began right here. He was part of the original LA Select team when the club launched in 2011, joining at just 7 years old. He continued his basketball journey through Crescenta Valley High School, where his love for the game grew into a passion for coaching and strategy.
Since returning as a coach in 2019, Coach Ed has brought unmatched energy, IQ, and care to LA Select. He’s now in his fourth season as the Varsity Assistant Coach at Crescenta Valley High School, following two seasons as Frosh head coach.
On the sidelines, he’s known for his fiery coaching style, sharp mind, and genuine relationships with players. He’s not just a coach—he’s a mentor and role model to every athlete lucky enough to share the court with him.
