Team Registration

On behalf of all our coaching staff, we would like to thank you for choosing LA Select and welcome you to our growing family. If you are reading this, we have selected your child to join one of our respective club teams. 

Our club registration process consists of 4 easy steps: 

Step 1: Code of Conduct

LA Select implements the following Player and Parent Team Code of Conduct. All players and parents (or legal guardians) must read and sign this form prior to the player’s full participation.

A. Program Standards

  1. ATTENDANCE AT PRACTICES IS VERY IMPORTANT! 90% or above attendance is required. Attendance is recorded and monitored by the head coach.

  2. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IS A PRIORITY. Report cards are reviewed every semester, and grades not meeting expectations set by parents and coaches will result in (in this order) practice suspension, game suspension, and ultimately forfeiture in participating on the team.

  3. TRYOUTS: Apart from the initial tryout, all players are required to re-tryout at the start of every season. This is to ensure all our club teams remain competitive as well as ensuring that all players are put in the best position to develop and gain game exposure.

  4. MISSED PRACTICES/UNEXPECTED ABSENCES: If you’re unable to attend a practice, please let coaches know via email or text. If missing practices becomes an issue, playing time will be impacted per the decision of the head coach.

  5. LEAVE OF ABSENCE: We guarantee/hold a spot on the team for one month per season (1 year) for a leave of absence. Any duration longer than one month means the player’s spot isn’t guaranteed upon requesting to return.

  6. GAMES: Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to game time. Always bring both sets of uniforms to the game. Players may only wear white, black, or navy underneath their game uniforms.

  7. PLAYING TIME IS NOT GUARANTEED. The factors in determining playing time include (but is not limited to) commitment, skill/ability, and practice attendance.

  8. We require a HIGH LEVEL OF COMMITMENT from players, parents, and coaches in order for our teams to reach their highest potential. This means we expect 100% commitment on both practice and game days.

B. Player Etiquette

  1. Arrive at practice on time/early and be ready to start at the designated time.

  2. Practice Uniforms must be worn (on the dark side) and tucked in during practices; no exceptions.

  3. Jewelry of any kind is not permitted during practices or games.

  4. No talking when: a). The coach is talking, or b). When any teammate is talking or asking a question.

  5. When a coach blows the whistle, stop what you are doing and listen.

  6. Being disruptive during practice is unfair to your teammates and coaches. If this behavior persists, an appropriate penalty will be decided by the head coach (i.e. pushups, running, asked to sit out, etc.).

  7. Bringing your own basketball to practices is encouraged but not mandatory.

C. Parent Etiquette

  1. PRACTICES:

    1. Parents are welcome to watch practices, but please refrain from communicating with your child while practices are going on – let the coaches coach. If this becomes a concern to the coach(es) where parents are yelling from the sidelines and distracting the players, parents will be asked to leave the gym during practices or games.

    2. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s skill development, playing time, health issues, etc. please DO NOT come up to a coach during, before, or right after a game or during practice. Please call or email them at a later time to make an appointment to talk outside of the gym and away from other team members/parents.

  2. GAMES:

    1. We encourage parents to cheer for all LA Select players because it creates a pleasant experience all around, but please DO NOT coach your son/daughter or the team from the sidelines.

    2. Refrain from using improper language towards referees and opposing team’s fans/players. Let the referee’s ref the game – you are not making the situation better by yelling at them.

    3. Excluding extreme circumstances, if you confirm to a tournament you are expected to show up. If you miss a tournament for any other reason, other than extreme circumstances, you will still be charged the tournament fee.

    4. Out of town tournaments will have a portion of the tournament fee charged beforehand as a non-refundable deposit.

By signing this form, the player and parent have both read and understood the rules in the LA Select Team Code of Conduct. Both provide their consent that a player who violates the Code of Conduct may be subject to disciplinary action by the team head coach and/or program director. This disciplinary action may include loss of playing time or forfeiture of the participation in the program entirely or for the season.

Step 2: Team Membership & Fees

LA Select has established the following Membership, Fee, Billing, and Refund Policies. All players and parents (or legal guardians) must read and sign this section prior to the player’s full participation in the program.

Team Membership

We offer two membership plans:

  1. Monthly Membership: $220/month

  2. Quarterly Membership: $600/3 months ($200/month)

Quarterly Membership Periods:

  • Fall: September/October/November

  • Winter: December/January/February

  • Spring: March/April/May

  • Summer: June/July/August

Important Notes:

  • Default Plan: All members start on the monthly plan.

  • Opting Into Quarterly Plan: You can switch to the quarterly plan only in the first month of each quarter (September, December, March, or June). This applies to new players as well.

  • To switch plans, email us at billing@laselect.com.

  • Once you choose a billing plan, you're all set, no need to re-enroll; we'll keep you on it until you tell us otherwise.

  • Membership fees are charged at the start of the month or quarter.

  • Sibling Discount: $20

Game Fees

  1. Tournament Fees:

    • Local Tournaments: $70–$100 per tournament

    • Out-of-Town Tournaments: $100–$150 per tournament

  2. Shootout Fees:

    • $20–$25 per game

Important Notes:

  • Game Fee Estimates: Fees depend on factors such as attendance, tournament costs, number of games, and tournament duration.

  • Billing Schedule: Game fees are charged at the end of each month, regardless of your membership plan.

  • Out-of-Town Tournament Billing: These fees are billed in advance, before the tournament month begins.

  • Dual-Team Participation: If a player competes on two LA Select teams in a single tournament, the secondary team’s tournament fee is charged at a 50% discount.

  • Missed Tournament Days: If we are informed at least 24 hours in advance that a player will miss a day of a tournament, the fee will be adjusted based on a daily rate, not per game.

    • Example:

      • 3-day tournament, missing 1 day = total fee × 2/3

      • 2-day tournament, missing 1 day = total fee ÷ 2

    • Shootout fees remain charged per game.

Uniform Costs

  • Practice Jersey (1 jersey): $55

  • Youth Game Uniform (2 jerseys, 2 shorts): $225

  • High School Game Uniform (1 jersey, 1 short): $125

Please note: Sales tax is not included and will be added to the invoice.

Payment Methods

Zelle Payment Details:

  • Send payments to billing@laselect.com.

  • Name on file: LA Select Basketball LLC

  • Include the player's full name and invoice number in the memo section.

Important Note: Please do not make payments until you receive an official invoice via email.

Refund Policy

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur. Our policy is as follows:

Eligibility for Refunds or Credits: Refunds or credits are only granted in cases of injury that prevent a player from participating in practices or games.

Process for Requesting a Refund or Credit:

  • Email billing@laselect.com with the subject line "Refund/Credit Request."

  • Include the player's name, details of the injury, and any supporting documentation (e.g., a doctor's note).

Important Notes:

  • Refunds or credits are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

  • All decisions regarding refunds or credits are final.

  • Membership, game, and uniform fees are otherwise non-refundable.

  • Skipping Months: Members cannot "pause" or skip months for any reason. Membership must be maintained continuously to remain part of the program.

  • Exception: High school teams are the only exception, as most will skip June and August.

By signing below, the player and parent acknowledge that they have read and understand all LA Select Membership, Fees, and Refund Policies. Both agree to the billing terms, including monthly or quarterly membership charges, separate game fees, uniform costs, and the refund policy as stated.

Step 3: Documentation

Please email a copy of the players birth certificate to documents@laselect.com (PDF/PNG/JPEG). This is required to participate in games. If you’re a returning member, we most likely have this on file already.

Step 4: Registration Form

Please take a few minutes to fill out our registration as thoroughly as possible. Email is our primary method of communication. All email addresses provided below will be added to our email list unless specified otherwise.
